BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh head field hockey coach Caitlin Dallmeyer announced the Mountain Hawks' 2021 schedule on Monday, a full slate which includes 17 games – nine at home and eight on the road. Along with their six Patriot League contests, the Mountain Hawks will play 11 nonleague games, including three against Philadelphia-area schools (Villanova, La Salle and Temple).
Lehigh kicks off the season at Villanova on Friday, Aug. 27 before returning home for the next two – vs. Longwood two days later (Sunday, Aug. 29) and Bryant the following Sunday (Sept. 5). The next weekend features a pair of games, at La Salle (Friday) and home vs. Georgetown (Sunday).
On Friday, Sept. 17, the Mountain Hawks host Boston University for the Patriot League opener, then head to Long Island on Sunday. Each of the ensuing five weekends include a single Patriot League contest – at Colgate (Sept. 25), at Holy Cross (Oct. 2), vs. American (Oct. 9), at Bucknell (Oct. 16) and vs. Lafayette (Oct. 22). Each of those games are on Saturday, except The Rivalry vs. the Leopards, which is scheduled for Friday night.
Included in Lehigh's remaining nonleague games is a home contest vs. Temple – the program's first matchup with the Owls since 2008. Temple's head coach is Susan Ciufo-Bennett, a former Mountain Hawks' assistant. Lehigh also hosts defending NEC Champion Rider on Sunday, Oct. 17. The Mountain Hawks close the regular season at Wagner on Sunday, Oct. 31.
The Patriot League semifinals are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 4 with the title game on Saturday, Nov. 6.
