Women's Swimming and Diving announces 2020 recruiting class

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's swimming and diving team will welcome in eight new talented members to the Brown and White family for this upcoming season.
"These women will add so much quality and depth to our team. I'm beyond excited to see what they'll do at the collegiate level," said head coach Robert Herb. "They will be the new wave in the league and help LEHIGH to the top of the league."
Lehigh is coming off one of its best seasons in program history, as the Mountain Hawks raced off to a perfect 6-0 mark, its best start since the 1998-99 season. The Mountain Hawks finished third at the Patriot League Championships with a total of 504 points. Last year's PLC performance was an improvement from the previous year, as the Mountain Hawks finished fourth a season ago with 447 total points.
Emma Camp – Smyrna, Ga. – The Walker School
Emma will come to Bethlehem and dive for the Mountain Hawks this upcoming year. Camp broke her high school's 6-dive record and qualified for All-American Recognition. She won states her junior year, while finishing runner-up her senior season. The incoming freshman graduated summa cum laude from The Walker School in Marietta, GA. She was inducted into the National Honor Society, and was a member of the Art, History, Latin, Math, and Science Honor Societies.
Maddie Dorish – Pittsburgh, Pa. – Mount Lebanon
The Pittsburgh native will look to swim the 100 and 200 breast, 100 back, and the 50 free for Lehigh. Her medley relay team won the PIAA State Championship during in her junior year, while also finishing ninth in the 100 breast. She qualified for Junior Nationals in the 100 breast and in the 100 back last summer. Dorish is a member of National Honor Society. She is also a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
Noel Fressa – Pennsburg, Pa. – Upper Perkiomen
Fresa comes to the Brown and White with a plethora of experience swimming multiple events. The Pennsburg native has swum sprint freestyles, primarily the 50 and the 100, the 200 free as well as backstroke events. Fressa concludes her high school career with four district championships, while also capturing silver and bronze at the PIAA State Championships. Fressa was a four-year honors student.
Sydney Izakson – Great Neck, N.Y. – Great Neck South
Izakson is an incoming freshman who will be diving for the Mountain Hawks during this upcoming season. Izakson holds school records in diving events at her high school, Great Neck South. During her senior year, the incoming freshman placed third at the Nassau
County Championships. The Great Neck native is a member of the National Honor Society.
Jordan MacDonald– Milford, Conn. – Joseph A. Foran High School
MacDonald comes to Lehigh after breaking records in seven events at Foran. The incoming freshman is a four-time state champion in the butterfly. MacDonald is a member of the National Honor Society. Also, she received awards for Excellence in English and Analytical Chemistry and the Bausch and Lomb University of Rochester Honorary Science Award.
Sarah Manthorp – Downingtown, Pa. – Downingtown Stem Academy
Manthorp will mostly swim mid-distance events for the Brown and White. During her freshman season she was named to the All-District I Swimming and Diving Team for the 50 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 200 medley relay and 200 free relay. I was awarded All-Chesmont recognition in the 50 free, 200 medley relay and 200 free relay. In her final season in high school she was again named All-Chesmont, All-District and All-State for the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle. She was a three-year honors student, while also a member of the National Honor Society.
Julia Stevens – Cheshire, Conn. – Cheshire
Stevens most recently placed fourth in the 1500m free, seventh in the 200m fly and eighth in the 400m free at YMCA Nationals this past summer for the Cheshire Y Sea Dog Swim Club. The incoming freshman is a six-time Connecticut State Championship finalist. Stevens is a four-year honors student, while also being named a Scholastic All-American.
Kelsey Thompson – Kinnelon, N.J. – Kinnelon
Kelsey will swim the fly, breast and IM for Lehigh this upcoming year. As a captain, Thompson paced her high school team throughout their dual meet season and championship season. She earned a plethora of All-Conference awards and placed at Meet of Champions. Thompson was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and Peer Leaders. She was also a member of Business, Math, Spanish and Art Honor Society.
