BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Lehigh women's track and field team is set to compete in three events over the course of the upcoming weekend, beginning with the Mondschein Multi at Kutztown University on Thursday and Friday. The Mountain Hawks will also travel to Moravian College Friday and Saturday for the Coach Pollard Invitational and to Bucknell University for the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
Three athletes will compete in the heptathlon at the Mondschein Multi beginning on Thursday. Freshman Bree Smentkowski, freshman Emily Dolan and freshman Hannah Figueroa are each competing in the meet's white group, which begins at 3:30 p.m. with the 100m hurdles. The multiers will conclude the meet on Friday at 3 p.m. with the 800m.
The events at Moravian kick off Friday afternoon with the shot put at 3 p.m. followed by the hammer throw. Sophomore Brittany Curtin, freshman Jena Reinheimer and freshman Teasha McKoy will compete in both events, as well as in Saturday's discus competition. Freshman Veronica Meyer is also slated to compete in Friday's hammer throw, as well as the discus and javelin on Saturday.
Saturday's events begin at 10 a.m. with the long jump on the field and the 5000m on the track. Sophomore Gianvanna Tabbachino is racing in the 5K and senior Armani Comick and junior Catherine Shippe are Lehigh's two long jumpers in the meet. Last weekend at the Lehigh-Lafayette Dual Meet, Shippe earned her first career dual meet win in the triple jump with a 11.03m mark.
Saturday's events at Moravian conclude with the 200m dash. The Mountain Hawks have three runners competing in the 5:15 p.m. race, including freshman Madison Hackman who led Lehigh to two victories last weekend at Lafayette.
The weekend's events conclude in Lewisburg at the Bison Outdoor Classic Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday's events start with the heptathlon beginning at 9:15 a.m. with the 100m hurdles. Lehigh will have three athletes competing in the heptathlon — freshman Carly Carpino, sophomore Maddy Harding and sophomore Noa Levy.
The meet concludes Sunday with the 4x400m relay at 5:45 p.m. Slated to compete for the Mountain Hawks is freshman Camari Griffin, junior Mary Casey, junior Sophie Antonioli and junior Monica McGavin.
