BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's tennis team will take on the Boston University Terriers this weekend when it travels to Chelsea Piers in Stamford Connecticut on Friday at 7 p.m. The Mountain Hawks then return home on Sunday to host Navy at 2 p.m. Lehigh will look to get back in the win column for the first time since Mar. 3 against La Salle.
Â
Last time out, Lehigh suffered a 4-1 loss to a talented Coastal Carolina squad. The Chanticleers swept the doubles point and won all but one of the singles matches.
Â
Lehigh freshman Elizabeth Nowak was a bright spot in Carolina though, winning her match over Jessie Mount at No. 4 in straight sets to earn the Mountain Hawks their only point on the day. Nowak is looking to extend her six-match win streak this weekend against the Terriers.
Â
Boston University will attempt to bounce back from a difficult spring break trip down to South Florida where it lost three of four matches. Most recently, the Terriers lost to No. 27 University of Miami, 4-0. Boston University began the spring season winning three of its first four games, topping Providence (6-1), Rhode Island (5-2) and Dartmouth (4-3). The Terriers are 5-7 overall.
Â
Navy stands 17-6 on the season, having won six straight matches. Five of the victories came on its spring break trip to Florida. Last time out, the Mids beat Texas at Tyler, 6-1.
Â
Last season, Lehigh fell to Boston University 7-0 and dropped a 6-1 final to Navy.
Â
Following this weekend's matchups, the Mountain Hawks return to action on Sunday, Mar. 31 at Colgate.
