Women's Track And Field Competes In The Bison Tune-Up in Preparation For The Patriot League Indoor Championship

LEWISBURG, PA. – Competing in its final event before the Patriot League Indoor Championship at Navy, the Lehigh women's track and field team saw numerous student-athletes finish in top-three in their respective events as the Brown and White took part in the Bucknell Tune-up Meet Friday evening.
The first event featured sophomore Morgan McConnell running a time of 25.62 in the 200-meter dash, as she finished third in the event. Moving to the 800-meter, three Mountain finished in the top-five, as senior Clare Severe, freshman Jade Sessions and junior Sophie Antonioli finished with times of 2:14.31, 2:16.42 and 2:16.91 for second, third and fourth place. The 60-meter hurdles featured a clean sweep of the top three spots for Lehigh, as sophomore Brett DeWesse finished first with a time of 9.00, freshman Chae Kim finished second with a time of 9.25 and senior Mariah Kozub finished with a time of 9.39.
The 1000-meter run saw similar results, with another three runners from Lehigh placing in the top-five. Junior Ashleigh Crawford won the event with a time of 2:56.43 while fellow junior Diana Hammerstone finished third with a time of 2:57.31 and junior Hannah Bonaguidi. In the mile run, freshman Martina Sell finished third with a time of 5:24.57. In the 3000-meter run, the Brown and White took first and second place as freshman Nicole Abbondandelo finished first with a time of 10:04.44 while sophomore Miranda Royds finished second with a time of 10:11.99.
Lehigh continued its strong showing on the during the field events, as sophomore Noa Levy finished first in the high jump with a mark of 1.68m (5' 6'') and junior Jordan Otto finished second with also with a mark of 1.68m (5'' 6''). In the long jump, Bree Smentkowski took third place with a makr of 4.88m (16' 0.25'').
The pole vault saw senior Kaitlyn Toman win the event with a mark of 3.75m (12' 3.5'') while junior Caity Reverand took second with a mark of 3.40m (11' 1.75'').
Sophomore Brittany Curtin led the charge for the Brown and White in the weight throw with a mark of 17.33m (56' 10.25'') with fellow sophomore Maggie Tarmey finishing second with a mark of 16.77m (54' 10.75'').
The Mountain Hawks will next see action down in Annapolis, Md, as they take part in the two day Patriot League Indoor Championship hosted by Navy,
