Women's Track And Field Competes at Villanova and Boston University

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's and women's track and field teams had another busy weekend, as it took part in two meets.
Splitting up once again, the Mountain Hawks found themselves competing in the Villanova Invitational and the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational hosted by Boston University.

Sprints and Middle Distance
Junior Brooke Schaeffer finished in the top-five in the 500-meter run, finishing fourth with a time of 1:15.35. In the 800-meter run, junior Mary Casey took 21st place with a time of 2:15.06.
Long Distance
For the mile run, senior Clare Severe finished seventh overall with a time of 4:45.41, junior Hannah Bonaguidi finished 15th with a time of 5:00.80 and senior Stephanie Hayes finished 28th with a time of 5:10.00. Sever's mile time sets a new school record, breaking the old one of 4:51.75.
In the 3000-meter run, Ashleigh Crawford finished 10th with a time of 9:48.57, while in the 5000-meter run, the Mountain Hawks had four runners in the top-10. Senior Stacie Nadel finished second with a time of 17:26.49, sophomore Susie Poore finished sixth with a time of 17:32.41, freshman Jamie Zamrin finished seventh with a time of 17:42.97 and senior Maura Henderson finished ninth with a time of 17:49.04.

Sprints and Middle Distance
The 60-meter dash saw sophomore Brett DeWeese finish eight in the finals with a time of 8.02. DeWeese was also the top finisher for Lehigh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.05 in the prelims. In the 200-meter dash, sophomore Alexis Smith finished 24th with a time of 26.34. In the 400-meter dash, sophomore Morgan McConnell led the Mountain Hawks in the event with a sixth-place finish with a time of 58.21. Freshman Madison Hackman was next up with a 15th place finish with a time of 59.48 while junior Erin Racano placed 21st with a time of 1:00.46
The 800-meter run saw Hetty McMillian finish 18th with a time of 2:20.88 while Carly Friend finished 24th with a time of 2:23.51.
Long Distance
Lehigh saw two runners finish in the top-10 in the mile run, with junior Diana Hammerstone finishing eight with a time of 5:00.74 and freshman Nicole Abbondandelo finishing ninth with a time of 5:06.18
Relay
The 4 x 400-meter relay saw Lehigh finish sixth as the group of McConnell, Racano, freshman Camari Griffin and freshman Bree Smentowski finished with a time of 4:01.13.
Field Events
Junior Jordan Otto took first place in the high jump with a mark of 1.65m while senior Tyler Bannister finished fourth with a mark of 1.60m. DeWeese was active on the field side of things, placing fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.41m while freshman Carly Carpino finished 13th with a mark of 5.00m. The lone Mountain Hawk in the triple jump, junior Cate Shippee finished sixth with a mark of 11.02m.
The pole vault saw two Mountain Hawks place in the top-10, as sophomore Madisyn Hawkins placed second with a mark of 3.70m and senior Kaitlyn Toman placed sixth with a mark of 3.70m.
In the weight throw, sophomore Brittany Curtin placed third with a mark of 16.81m with Ashley Wilson, Maggie Tarmey and Teasha McKoy all placing in the top-10 as well with marks of 15.59m,15.51m and 15.00m.
Curtin would also lead the way in the shot put with a mark of 12.09m with freshman Jena Reinheimer finished with a mark of 10.95m.
The Mountain Hawks are back in action next week at the Bucknell Tuneup in preparation for the Patriot League Indoor Championship.
