BETHLEHEM. Pa. — It was a successful season for Lehigh men's swimming and diving on a bunch of levels, especially in dual meet season, where the team finished at 6-2 for their best record since the 2010-11 season. For his performance in the Patriot League Championship last weekend, junior Walker Wilson was named Second Team All-Patriot League, announced by the league on Thursday.
This is Wilson's second time named to the Second Team, after receiving the honor in 2018.
Wilson finished the PLC as the Lehigh men's leading scorer with 32 total points. His best event of the competition came in the 500-yard freestyle where he finished in third place with a bronze medal, breaking the Lehigh school record set by himself earlier in the season with a time of 4:23.84. In addition individually, Wilson had a seventh place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:39.08, as well as a 13th place finish in the 1650 free with a time of 15:52.29.
On the season, Wilson had a fantastic junior year, a big part of the Mountain Hawks' success as a whole. He broke two men's school records total in the 500 freestyle (twice) and the 200 back (1:48.93). In addition, he competed at the U.S. Winter National Championships in Greensboro, N.C., breaking Lehigh's long-course 400-meter freestyle record twice in the same day and finished with a time of 4:01.83.
The expectation remains that Wilson will only continue to grow stronger as he heads into the offseason and the summer in preparation for his final year in the Brown and White.
