BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team picked up its third consecutive victory as they defeated Marist 4-2 at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday.

The Mountain Hawks move to 3-2 while Marist falls to 2-3.

"Our student-athletes showed a lot of grit in singles after being humbled in doubles," said head coach Wouter Hendrix after the win. "We're happy with the win over a good Marist team and are aware of areas that require improvement. Looking forward to tomorrow's challenge as this will be a new opportunity to apply ourselves to the goals we've set for ourselves."

After seeing the pair of sophomore Harry Wang and freshman Zack Elliott win the No. 1 doubles 6-3, Marist would rally, winning the next two doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead over Lehigh.

The Mountain Hawks would initially respond with Elliott winning the No. 2 singles flight 6-3, 6-0 to tie the match at 1-1.

Marist would take the No. 1 singled flight before Lehigh would go on the offensive once more.

Beginning with junior Jack Martin-Dyer at the No. 4 singles flight, who would win 7-6, 7-5, Lehigh would win the next four singles matches. Senior Bryant Born, who won in three sets, 7-5, 2-6, 6-4, made it a 3-1 match while senior Christopher Auteri put things on ice with a two-set victory, 6-1, 6-4, at the No. 6 singles flight to clinch the win for the Brown and White.

Lehigh hosts the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers on Sunday at 10 a.m.
