BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Glenn Lasco of the Lehigh men's swimming and diving team was named Patriot League Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday. Lasco was tabbed the award after his strong performance from last week's Rutgers Invitational. With the award, this is the third time this year that the men's swimming and diving team was honored by the Patriot League.

"Glenn has continued to work hard and focus on his skills," head coach Rob Herb claimed. "There is so much more coming from him in 2020. He is an exciting, dynamic competitor who is only getting better."

At Rutgers last week, the sophomore tallied three wins and one second place finish throughout the four-day competition. In his wins, Lasco finished the 100 freestyle with a time of 44.57, while winning the B Final 50 freestyle at 20.42. Then competing in the 400 freestyle relay along with Walker Wilson, Collin Hanlon and Caleb Eberly, Lasco and the Mountain Hawks swam by their competition with a time of 3:01.93.

Competing as a freshman last year, Lasco was voted Freshman of the Year by his team, holding school records in the 100 IM (52.23) and the 100 back (49.56).n The sophomore has no doubt been a strong force in the exciting 5-1 start by Lehigh in 2019.

Lasco's honor is the third time that the men's team was honored by the league. Previously, the senior Wilson was tabbed Male Swimmer of the Week twice.

Next up, Lasco will look to use this award as motivation as Lehigh will travel to Army West Point on January 10.
