
Miles and Fennell earn PL weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's swimming and diving team opened a highly anticipating 2019-20 campaign by defeating Boston University on Saturday inside Jacobs Pool. The Mountain Hawks defeated Boston University, 185-108.
On Tuesday, the Patriot League Conference announced the Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving awards. Senior Payton Miles was named Swimmer of the Week, while junior Megan Fennell was tabbed Dive of the Week.
Miles came into the season known as one of the best swimmers in the Patriot League. The three-time All-Patriot League swimmer won three events on Saturday. The senior registered winning times in the 50 freestyle (23.94) and the 100 free (51.88), while also being a part of the 200 medley relay team that won with a time of 1:47.02.
"Payton has set herself up over the last four years both in the pool and academically to finish out her career on fire," stated head coach Rob Herb. "We are so proud of her accomplishments, and this is just the beginning of what she has in store for us this year."
Fennell had a tremendous start to her junior season, breaking two team records against Boston. Fennell broke her own records in both the 1 and 3-meter dives. In the 1-meter dive, Fennell scored a 277.05, while tallying a score of 281.47 in the 3-meter dive. The junior is a two-time All-Patriot League selection
"Megan had a great meet against Boston University. She was consistent on all of her dives and performed very well," said diving coach Christina Sather. "I'm excited to see what the rest of the season holds for her as we progress with newer dives."
Freshman Sarah Hardy earned honorable mention as she broke the freshman pool record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.63 against the Terriers.
The Brown and White into West Chester on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m.
