Patrick Takes Runner-Up on Friday at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Sophomore Hannah Patrick finished runner-up in the javelin throw at the Penn Relays on Friday afternoon, taking second place out of 28 throwers with her new personal record of 45.61 meters. A NCAA First Round qualifier last season, Patrick topped her previous personal best by 22 centimeters, which she had set two weeks ago at the Bison Outdoor Classic.
Freshman Brianna Wanbaugh also represented Lehigh in the javelin and placed 14th after throwing 40.90 meters.
Over on the men's side, Trevor Knowles set a new personal best in the 110m hurdles with his time of 14.73 seconds. Junior Ryan Givens placed 20th out of 40 in the long jump with his leap of 6.82m.
In the 4x200 meter relay on Friday afternoon, the quartet of Michael Camera, Matt Solomon, Emre Soybas and Samuel Tapera combined for a finish of 1:31.54.
Lehigh will have one last athlete compete at the Penn Relays on Saturday, with Kyle Sult throwing in the men's javelin at 9 a.m. The rest of the team will host the annual Lehigh Games and Senior Day at Goodman Campus.
The Games will begin at 10 a.m. with the senor ceremony concluding the day at 4:30.
