Lehigh’s Women Heading to Boston for Battle in Beantown

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After a week off last weekend, the Lehigh women's cross country team is set to head to Boston this Friday where they will compete in the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown at historic Franklin Park. Start time for the women's 5K race is set for 3 p.m. and live results will be available through Millennium Running.
The Lehigh women will be one of 23 competing teams at the meet on Friday, including four who are ranked in the nation's most recent USTFCCCA Top 30 poll including Providence (7), Indiana (26), Georgetown (27) and Harvard (28). The field also includes Patriot League foe Boston University, and fellow Mid-Atlantic Region opponent Georgetown, who enters the weekend ranked third in the region.
Several teams ranked in the latest Northeast Region poll will also make an appearance this weekend including Providence (1), Syracuse (3), Cornell (5), Harvard (6), Brown (7), New Hampshire (8), Dartmouth (9), Boston College (11), UConn (12), and Vermont (14) and Albany (15).
The Mountain Hawks remained eighth for the third straight week in the latest Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings.
Lehigh is coming off its first-ever perfect score over Lafayette in the team's annual dual meet back on Sept. 8. Junior Maura Henderson led Lehigh to a sweep of the top seven spots in her first finish of the season. Sophomore Diana Hammerstone has placed third on the team in both meets thus far, and junior Stacie Nadel and freshman Hannah Knudsen have finished in the team's top seven in each of the team's two meets.
