BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh sophomore Kaitlyn Highduch was named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team for women's cross country, as announced by the league on Wednesday morning.

This is Highduch's first selection to the all-academic team. Her selection was due to her excellent performance both on and off the trail. She has maintained a 3.9 cumulative GPA as a chemical engineering major, and placed 16th at the Patriot League Championship on Friday.

Highduch has been a frontrunner for the Mountain Hawks all season, finishing either first or second for her team in all five races she has competed in. She opened her season with a win at the Lehigh-Lafayette dual meet, helping the Mountain Hawks to their 20th straight win over the Leopards. Following a 17th place finish at the Ted Owen Invitational where she was the second Mountain Hawk to cross the line, she managed two top-61 place finishes at the Paul Short run and the Princeton Invitational as Lehigh's leading runner.

Highduch's and Lehigh's next race will come at home on November 14 when the Mountain Hawks will host the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
