Women's Tennis Hosts Colgate Friday to Open Postseason Play

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The No. 4 seeded Lehigh women's tennis team will begin its quest for a Patriot League title with a Patriot League Tournament quarterfinal round match against No. 5 Colgate on Thursday at 10 a.m. Lehigh is the host for the 2017 Patriot League Women's Tennis Championship. Weather permitting, all matches will be played outside at the Ulrich Courts with two matches conducted simultaneously on the 12 varsity courts on Friday and Saturday. The Lewis Tennis Center will be used as the indoor venue should inclement weather conditions occur.
The Mountain Hawks (9-8, 4-3) posted a 7-0 victory over the Raiders (9-8, 3-1) in the regular season meeting on April 14 in New York. The victory was one of three 7-0 victories LU had in league play this season. In addition to Colgate, Lehigh also had league victories over Loyola, Bucknell and Lafayette. The Raiders notched league wins over Bucknell, Lafayette and Holy Cross.
Junior Christina Auyeung leads LU with a 12-4 overall singles record with a 5-1 mark in league play while playing at the No. 1 singles position. Senior Jamie Campisi boasts an overall singles record of 11-5 with a mark of 5-1 in league play and will play the No. 6 spot in postseason play. Freshman Sibel Can owns an overall singles record of 11-6 with a record of 5-2 against Patriot League opponents. Can will assume her normal position at the No. 2 singles flight in postseason play.
Grace Lin will play the No. 3 spot as she owns an overall mark of 7-9. Briana Maravich is slotted for the No. 4 flight and enters the postseason with a record of 5-10. Cassidy Cruz will compete at the No. 5 singles flight as she owns a record of 10-7 on the season.
Auyeung and Campisi will be paired at the No. 1 doubles flight where they own an 8-6 record together on the season. Friedman and Lin will be paired together for the second time this spring at the No. 2 doubles flight while Can and Cruz will paired at the No. 3 doubles spot where they are 1-0 together.
