BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's lacrosse team is set to open April on Saturday when it hosts No. 16/18 Boston University in a big Patriot League matchup. The game is set for 3 p.m. on the Patriot League Network following the noon Lehigh women's lacrosse game, also against Boston University. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a 14-9 loss at Navy on Saturday, a game which saw the Midshipmen open a 9-3 lead, but Lehigh wouldn't go away and got as close as three late in the third quarter.

Saturday's Alumni Day will feature the return of several alumni, including a special recognition for the 2012 Patriot League Champion team, which set a school record with 14 wins and advanced to the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament where it hosted Maryland in the first round. Tickets are just $5 for the general public and FREE for students, faculty and staff with a Lehigh ID. The Goodman Bus Service will be running to the game, with buses leaving at 11:15 and 11:45 a.m. from the Dialogue Center on Taylor Street (between Taylor Gym and Grace Hall).

Lehigh enters Saturday's game with a 4-4 overall record and 2-3 mark in the Patriot League. The Terriers are 9-1, 3-1 in league play. The Mountain Hawks have alternated wins and losses over their last four games. The last time they were home, they picked up an impressive 15-7 victory over archrival Lafayette.

At Navy, a goal from sophomore Andrew Pettit pulled Lehigh within 4-2, but the Mids responded with five of the next six goals to take a 9-3 advantage. Sophomores Lucas Spence and Tristan Rai scored with 19 and six seconds remaining in the first half, respectively, to pull Lehigh within 9-5 after 30 minutes of play. Pettit's second goal of the game got Lehigh as close as 11-8 late in the third quarter, but the Mountain Hawks couldn't pull any closer.

Pettit finished the game with two goals, extending his streak of multiple goals to nine games dating back to last season. He is now the only player in the nation with multiple goals in every game this season. Rai led the offense with five points behind three goals (his 10th career hat trick) and two assists while Spence scored twice and sophomore Craig Chick dished two assists. Chick also had five groundballs, four caused turnovers and two faceoff wins. He's up to 25 caused turnovers this season (tied for most in the nation) while his 62 caused turnovers since the beginning of last season stand No. 1. On Saturday, Chick moved past Richard Bradley into fourth place in school history for career caused turnovers.

A big story of Saturday's game was the play of Navy's senior faceoff specialist Brady Dove, who won 21-of-25 on the afternoon. He helped the Midshipmen control possession, limiting the Mountain Hawks' chances. Lehigh won four of its five faceoffs in the second quarter and turned it into five goals on seven shots.

Boston University is tied for the nation's lead in wins with nine after beginning the season with seven straight victories. Bucknell beat the Terriers 12-6 two Saturdays ago, but Boston University has responded with wins over Harvard (13-8) and Lafayette (15-7). Cal Dearth leads the team in scoring with 34 points behind 20 goals and 14 assists while Jack Wilson has 28 points (18 goals, 10 assists) and Ryan Hilburn owns 25 (14 goals, 11 assists). Joe Stucky has won 109-of-207 faceoffs (52.7 percent) with a team-high 48 groundballs. Goaltender Christian Carson-Banister has tallied a 7.27 goals against average and .619 save percentage, which is fourth nationally. Boston University stands seventh nationally in scoring defense (7.60) and ninth in scoring margin (+4.20) on the season.

Lehigh leads the all-time series against Boston University, 3-0, defeating the Terriers 10-7, 10-9 and 8-7. The last time the teams played at Lehigh, the Mountain Hawks jumped out to a 6-2 halftime lead, Boston University tied the score at nine with 4:54 remaining, but a Patrick Corbett man-up goal with 2:37 on the clock gave Lehigh an exciting 10-9 win in the snow.

Following Saturday's game, the Mountain Hawks will hit the road next Saturday, Apr. 8 for another big Patriot League matchup at Loyola. Opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
