#18 Kevin Klinkenberg – Defender – Barrington, Ill. – Political Science and International Relations
What's your favorite Lehigh Men's Soccer memory up until this point? Why?
I have two favorite Lehigh Soccer memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life. One, was winning the Patriot League Championship in 2015 and celebrating with the boys. That win was the culmination of hard work and sacrifice by every member of the team. Winning that championship and celebrating with the boys was a special moment. The second memory that stands out to me was our recent Spring Break trip to the greatest port city in the world Le Havre, France. Getting the opportunity to travel the world and play against professionals in a professional stadium is something I will never forget.
Describe the relationship with your fellow seniors.
Since we stepped on campus we have probably spent at least 90% of our free time together so I would definitely say we are close. We all have different personalities, but we all mesh well together and are incredibly close. Joe, JM, Nick, Jack, Tatsu, Doyle and David are some of my closest friends and they will be lifelong friends that I can rely upon with anything.
Describe the feeling going into Senior Night. What are some of the thoughts going through your mind as you're nearing the end of your collegiate career?
It's kind of a surreal moment to be honest. Soccer has been such a big part of my life and the thought of my soccer career ending soon has yet to truly hit me. I'm just trying to soak in all the memories and enjoy my last season as a college soccer player.
What will you miss most about Lehigh Men's Soccer?
I will miss my teammates and playing soccer every day. Every year I have been here, this team has been a tight knit group of great guys that knew when to take things serious and when to joke around. I'll miss the jokes, the locker room banter and grinding with my teammates in the hopes of winning a Patriot League Championship. I'll also greatly miss the sunsets at Ulrich during a night game.
What are your postgraduate plans?
I am planning on graduating a semester early this December with a double major of Political Science and International Relations with a minor in Global Studies. I will most likely take some time off to travel and then I will either be going to graduate school or pursuing full time employment. Feel free to connect with me on linkedin to help with my job search!

Describe the feeling going into Senior Night. What are some of the thoughts going through your mind as you're nearing the end of your collegiate career?
It's a weird feeling to say the least. It's exciting, but also nerve wracking. It will be really weird to finish playing considering how much a part this team has played in my past four years. I don't want it to end and hopefully we can extend it as long as possible.

The comradery, just spending time with the guys and messing around. Whether it's at practice, a game or any away trip I will miss the fun we had as a team.
