BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's track and field team is set to host the 44th annual indoor dual meet with rival Lafayette on Saturday at Rauch Fieldhouse. The Mountain Hawks lead the all-time indoor series 23-20 over the Leopards, dating back to the first indoor dual meet between the two programs in in 1973. The rivalry has been fairly even of late with Lehigh holding a slight edge by winning six of the last 10 indoor matchups since 2007. Lehigh has scored three of the four highest point totals in the rivalry's history during their current three meet win streak in 2014 (111.5) and 2015 (120) and 2016 (104).
Â
The meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. with the men's pole vault, and the track events will start at 3:30 p.m. with the women's mile run. A complete schedule of events and meet information are available by clicking here. Live results will also be available at www.mitchelltiming.com.
Â
The meet will be the fourth of five meets for Lehigh at Rauch Fieldhouse this season. Two athletes have ranked themselves nationally with top 20 performances, including Lucas Warning's 16th ranked, school record shot put 18.09 meters, and Trevor Knowles's school record heptathlon score of 5,242 points, which is ninth in the country entering this weekend. Warning reset the school record once again last week at the Angry Birds Challenge, becoming the first person in indoor program history to top the 18-meter mark in the shot put.
Â
The Lehigh men have won five weekly awards from the Patriot League so far this season, with Warning (two) and Knowles (one) each winning Field Athlete of the Week honors, and freshman pole vaulter Joey Kelly winning back-to-back Rookie of the Week honors in December. The five awards won by the men, plus the five won by the Lehigh women, are the most of any Patriot League school this year.
