
Lehigh Men Post Five Podium Finishes At Patriot League Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Lehigh men's track and field team totaled five podium finishes on day two of the Patriot League Championships Saturday at the Hart Track and Field Complex. Senior Gideon Coprivnicar won a silver medal in the decathlon to lead the way as the Mountain Hawk men also registered six all-time top 10 additions.

The Mountain Hawks totaled 64 points to finish fifth out of nine teams. Navy won its 11th straight team title with 236 points, followed by Army (201), Boston U. (134) and Bucknell (94).

DECATHLON
Coprivnicar scored 6907 points to move into second place all-time at Lehigh in the event. Saturday's action was highlighted by a win and a PR in the javelin (54.30m). He posted PRs in nine of the 10 events over the two days of competition. Sophomore Andrew Clark finished eighth with 6349 points to improve on his 10th place all-time mark. Clark won the 1500m and secured PRs in seven of the 10 events.

HURDLES
Senior Jonathan Bennett ran 14.16 in the 110m hurdles to finish third overall, with his time moving him into second place all-time. Sophomore Nathan Oliphant finished eighth with a finals time of 14.91 after running 14.74 in Friday's prelims.

In the 400m hurdles, senior Patrez Thomas earned bronze with his time of 52.23 improving on his third all-time mark. Sophomore Aiden DiBuono ran 55.57 in the finals to finish eighth.

JUMPS
Senior Skyler Mott and first-year Jaden Ferguson both cleared 2.02m in the high jump, with Mott claiming third place based on clearing the height on his lone attempt.

MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE
In Saturday's first track event, junior Adam Barbato ran 9:03.56 to take third in the 3000m steeplechase and move into eighth place all-time. Junior Connor Malinger ran 9:55.54 to finish 10th.

Seven Mountain Hawks ran in the 5000m, with sophomore Ryan Baker leading the way with a 15:13.40 to finish 24th. Senior Aidan Lynch ran 15:21.34 to finish in 26th place, while senior Kevin Harvey ran 15:28.07 to finish in 29th place.

Senior Liam Lovering threw the shot put 16.44m to finish sixth and move into fifth place all-time at Lehigh. Junior Joe Nowakowski finished ninth with a mark of 15.94m. Lovering also finished 10th in the discus with a throw of 44.91m, while first-year Aaron Humes had a throw of 41.12m to finish in 16th place.

The 4x100m relay, consisting of first-year Tyler VerSchure, Thomas, first-year Austin Iburg and DiBuono finished seventh in 42.98. The 4x400m relay team, consisting of Thomas, DiBuono, VerScure and sophomore Logan Haverkamp finished eighth with a time of 3:17.91.
