Ferguson Wins IC4A Title; Three Top-10s For Men In Two Meet Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J./FAIRFAX, Va. – First-year Jaden Ferguson won an IC4A title in the long jump and was one of three all-time top 10 additions as the men's track and field team competed at the two-day IC4A Championships at George Mason and Saturday's Princeton Elite Invitational.

Senior Greg Stagliano and first-year Harry Keen took 2-3 in the javelin throw with Stagliano's 63.28m effort good for fifth all-time. Keen's throw was 60.72m.

Senior Aidan Lynch capped Saturday's action by running 3:49.08 in the 1500m to finish 14th and move into seventh place all-time.

Senior Skyler Mott cleared 2.01m to finish second in the high jump.
Â
Junior Joe Nowakowski threw the shot put 15.81m to finish fifth, while senior Liam Lovering took sixth in the discus (47.09m).

Junior Adam Barbato finish ninth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:04.74.

A massive final jump of 7.34m gave Ferguson the IC4A title in the long jump, with the first-year moving into third place all-time.

Junior Alex Heidemann ran a season-best 1:51.31 to finish fourth in the 800m. In the 1500m, junior Daniel Malatesta, ran 3:54.11 to finish ninth.

In the distance events sophomore Ryan Baker finished seventh in the 5000m (14:54.97) and sophomore Dylan Cunningham finished fourth in the 10000m (33:27.28).

The Mountain Hawks will await the announcement of qualifying athletes for the NCAA East Regional, May 28-31 in Jacksonville, Fla.
