Mountain Hawks fall 7-0 to two-time defending champ Boston University

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Lehigh women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to two-time defending Patriot League champion Boston University in a neutral site match played in West Point, N.Y. Sunday afternoon. Lehigh falls to 8-7 overall and 3-3 in league play with the loss, while the Terriers improve to 9-7 overall and 4-0 against Patriot League foes.
Boston University opened the afternoon by sweeping the doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead behind the doubles point.
The Terriers claimed the first singles point at the fourth flight as Sabrina Faybyshev won by injury default. Johanna Hyoty captured a 6-1, 6-4 win over sophomore Christina Auyeung at the top flight before Remi Ramos clinched the match for the Terriers at No. 6 singles with a 6-4, 6-0 win over sophomore Kirstin Godau.
Junior Cassidy Cruz fell 7-5, 6-2 to Barbara Rodriguez at No. 5 singles before Iryna Kostirko defeated sophomore Briana Maravich 6-3, 7-5 at the third flight. Lauren Davis then wrapped up the 7-0 BU win with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over freshman Grace Lin at No. 2 singles.
Lehigh returns to action Thursday when the Mountain Hawks host Army in their final home match of the regular season at 4 p.m.
