Mountain Hawks pick up third-straight win with 7-0 sweep of Rider

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 sweep of Rider Sunday afternoon inside the Lewis Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks won every singles and doubles match, dropping just four sets along the way. Lehigh runs its win streak to three-straight matches and improves to 5-4 overall, while Rider falls to 0-2.
Sophomores Briana Maravich and Kirstin Godau began the day with a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles before junior Christina Auyeung and sophomore Christina Auyeung clinched the doubles point with a 6-0 win at the top flight. Junior Cassidy Cruz and freshman Grace Lin completed the doubles sweep with a 6-1 win at the second flight.
Campisi completed a 6-0, 6-0 win over Kelli Swanson at the third flight to open singles play. Maravich earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Aleesha Rouse at No. 4 singles, before Lin clinched the match for the Mountain Hawks with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the second flight.
Auyeung cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Vanessa Canda at the top flight of singles. Cruz claimed another 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles before Godau wrapped up the 7-0 sweep with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the sixth flight.
Lehigh's spring break trip was recently cancelled due to travel concerns caused by the Zika Virus. The Mountain Hawks are scheduled to open Patriot League play on March 20 against Loyola.
