Mountain Hawks host Loyola to kick off league play Sunday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's tennis team gets back on the courts after a 14-day layoff from match action Sunday at 3 p.m. when Lehigh opens Patriot League play against Loyola at the Lewis Tennis Center.
The Mountain Hawks carry a 5-4 record into league action. Lehigh has won its last three matches with 7-0 sweeps over Kutztown and Rider and an impressive 5-2 win over a strong Saint Joseph's team. The Mountain Hawks have also picked up 7-0 wins over Mount St. Mary's and Saint Francis (Pa.) this season.
Freshman Grace Lin has gone 7-1 in singles action to lead the Mountain Hawks, while sophomore Christina Auyeung is 6-2 at the top flight of singles. Sophomores Kirstin Godau (6-1) and Briana Maravich (7-2) have also impressed in singles play. Godau is 7-1 in doubles action, while the duo of Auyeung and junior Jamie Campisi have gone 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.
Loyola is 4-3 this season and will face La Salle at home Friday afternoon before traveling to Bethlehem Sunday. The Greyhounds have picked up wins over Wartburg (6-3), John Carroll (4-3), Saint Peter's (7-0) and Morgan State (5-2) this season, while Loyola has dropped matches against Delaware (7-0), Chestnut Hill (4-3) and Davenport (5-2).
Lehigh earned a strong 6-1 win over Loyola in last season's meeting on April 15 in Baltimore. The Mountain Hawks then defeated the Greyhounds 4-0 in the Patriot League Quarterfinals on April 24 to advance to Lehigh's first Patriot League Semifinal since 2009.
Following Sunday's match against Loyola, Lehigh will head to Navy next Saturday March 26 for its first road match of the season.
