BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a win over Holy Cross in its Patriot League opener, the red-hot Lehigh women's lacrosse team remains home this Saturday to host American at 12 p.m. The Mountain Hawks will be vying for their seventh straight win and a 2-0 start in league play for the first time since 2010. Lehigh's current six-game winning streak stands as the program's longest since the start of 2010, when the Mountain Hawks began the year 8-0.

Saturday features a Lehigh Lacrosse doubleheader with the women set to host American at 12 p.m. before the men host Navy at 3 p.m. Lehigh Lacrosse (men's and women's) will be hosting a food drive Saturday as non-perishable food items will be collected at the Ulrich Sports Complex, right through the main entrance by the concession stand. All donations will go to New Bethany Ministries, a local food pantry and soup kitchen that feeds and shelters local individuals and families in need.

In its most recent contest, Lehigh jumped out to a 6-2 lead, Holy Cross scored two of the first three second-half goals to pull within 9-7 with 10:50 still remaining, but the Mountain Hawks scored three empty-net goals in the final 2:24 to wrap up the 12-7 victory. Junior Allison LaBeau led the offense with seven points (three goals, four assists) as she's now recorded 15 points over her last two home games. The hat trick was LaBeau's 13th of her career, and she was recognized by being named Patriot League Attacker of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks.

Junior Lauren Beausoleil also had a strong effort, posting her third-career hat trick with three goals. Classmate Julianne D'Orazio filled up the stat sheet with a career-high five caused turnovers along with four groundballs, three draw controls and her second goal of the season. D'Orazio came up big late in the second half as three of her caused turnovers came over the game's final 12:38, all at crucial times. The first came with 12:38 remaining (and Lehigh leading 9-6), the second came with 10:31 on the clock (and Lehigh leading 9-7) and the third came with 7:18 on the clock (and Lehigh still leading 9-7).

Lehigh's defense has impressed this season, currently standing tied for 12th nationally in allowing just 7.29 goals per game. LaBeau is up to fourth nationally in points per game (5.0) (35 in seven games).

American enters Saturday's game with a 3-8 record, 0-3 in Patriot League play. The Eagles' wins have come against Saint Joseph's, Wagner and Mount St. Mary's, but they've lost five straight games, most recently dropping an 8-4 final to Colgate last Saturday. Jennifer DeSimone leads the team in scoring with 24 goals, along with three assists for 27 points. Olivia Mangan also owns 27 points with 12 goals and a team-leading 15 assists. Jessica Wojciechowski has posted 21 points (15 goals, six assists) while Madison Hoon owns 14 (11 goals, three assists). Wojciechowski leads the team with 13 caused turnovers, Hoon has recorded a team-leading 40 draw controls while goalkeeper Fiona Geier has a team-leading 23 groundballs. Geier has played every minute in goal, recording an 11.68 GAA and .393 save percentage.

The Eagles lead the all-time series, 12-6, but Lehigh has won each of the last two seasons. Last year, the Mountain Hawks earned a dominant 16-6 road win to clinch a Patriot League Tournament berth. LaBeau and Carli Sukonik each scored four goals to lead the offense.

Following Saturday's game, the Mountain Hawks will hit the road for two straight league contests, at Navy next Wednesday (Mar. 30) and Boston University next Saturday (Apr. 2).
