NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Lehigh women's track and field program completed its participation in pair of meets on Friday and Saturday in New York City. The team split action between the Armory Track Invitational in Manhattan and the Villanova Invitational on Staten Island. Multiple Mountain Hawks set new personal and season highs, as well as hitting a pair of IC4A/ECAC qualifying times.

Villanova Invitational:

Katie Hatler turned in her fastest time of the season in the 60 meter hurdles, placing ninth out of 32 in the prelims.

A trio of Mountain Hawks placed in the top seven of the high jump, with Courtney Avery leading the way in second place at 1.70 meters. Brittany Le Jouan (5th/1.65m) and Gabrielle Wardle (7th/1.65m) followed suit in the field of 16 placers.

Freshman Kaitlyn Toman tied her season/collegiate high for the second straight meet, pole vaulting 3.50 meters for a seventh place finish.

Kiana Wright turned in a strong day of jumps, placing fourth in both the long jump (5.44m) and triple jump (10.83m), with the long jump setting a new personal best by one centimeter.

Amanda Youngblood finished in the upper half of the shot put, finishing in 12th place (11.65m). She later finished in 13th place overall (14.57m) in the weight throw, trailing teammate Michaela Bubak, who's toss of 15.31m landed her in ninth place.

Armory Track Invitational:

Junior Marissa Karl and freshman Clare Severe both had solid performances for Lehigh in the 1,000 meter run, setting new PRs in the event as well as hitting IC4A/ECAC qualifying times. Karl led the way in 13th place overall, two places ahead of Severe, who helped lead Lehigh in the field of 43 racers.

Senior Elizabeth Weiler was the highest placing Lehigh runner in the 3,000 meter run, finishing 14th out of 54 runners. Freshman Maura Henderson used a new PR time of 10:06.91 to come in 23rd. Senior Shannon Wright placed 31st overall, finishing in 10:16.48, which was the second fastest 3,000 meter time of her career and came within about four seconds of her personal best.

Laura Barnes set a pair of collegiate personal bests, and led Lehigh in 24th place in both of her events, finishing the 1,500 meter run in 4:47.02 and the mile run in 5:06.41.

Hanna Brosky led the way for Lehigh with a 17th place finish overall in the 500 meter run in 1:18.07. Tyler Scanlin finished 30th overall (2:17.56) in the 800 meter run, two places ahead of teammate Marissa Karl (2:17.93).

"We're pretty excited about where we're at and how we're shaping up for the league championships in two weeks," head coach Matt Utesch said afterwards on Saturday.

Lehigh will have one more warmup before the league championships, which will come next Friday, Feb. 12 at the Bucknell Tune Up.
