Lehigh Earns Three Wins at Bucknell Tune-Up

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lehigh men's track and field team notched three wins and a pair of runner-up performances on Friday evening at the Bucknell Tune-Up, their final meet before next weekend's Patriot League Championships. Tyler John took home the top prize in the pole vault, tying his own indoor PR from last year's indoor league championships at 4.65m. Daniel Boardman also captured first place in the triple jump, leaping a new personal record distance of 13.90 meters. On the track, Tom Troxell broke the tape for Lehigh in the 500 meter run.
Sophomore Michael Camera finished second overall and was first among collegiate runners in the 60 meter dash, crossing the line in personal record time 7.04 seconds.
Four Mountain Hawks made up the field of five runners in the 500 meter run, with Troxell leading the way in 1:07.78. Clay Stabolepszy, James Clements and Robert Iulo (1:08.76) rounded out the top four places in order, with Iulo setting a new personal benchmark.
Jake Sabatini was the Brown and White's lone rep in the 200 meter dash, placing fourth overall in 23.21 seconds. Christopher Del Rossi amassed a third place tally of 50.87 in the 400 meter dash, with Emre Soybas following in sixth. James Chappell led the way for Lehigh in eighth place of the 800 meter run.
Henry Paul set a new personal best of 8:52.41 to finish fourth in the 3,000 meter run. He led a quartet of Mountain Hawk runners including Kyle Leonard (6th/8:58.21), Jack Curran (7th/PR-8:59.43) and Nicholas Hirdt (8th/Indoor PR-9:01.22) who all turned in strong performances for Lehigh.
Lehigh placed third in the lone relay event on the night, as the 'A' 4x400 relay squad of Seamus Cullinane, Chappell, Stabolepszy and Robert Smith combined to finish third.
Lehigh will now look towards the Patriot League Indoor Championships, which will run next Friday, Feb. 19-21 in Boston, Mass.
