What is your favorite Lehigh swimming moment up to this point? Why?
MC: My favorite Lehigh swimming moment up to this point was watching fellow teammates Jamal Willis, Justin White, and Jacob Moyar compete at Winter Nationals. Jamal and Justin both qualified for Olympic Trials and Jacob was a consolation finalist. The whole team watched together to cheer them on.
Describe the relationship with your fellow seniors.
MC: I currently live with the rest of my fellow seniors, Jake and Sean. We have been very close since our freshman year. They've been there for me since the beginning and I can count on them for anything.
Describe the feeling going into your last home meet. What are some of the thoughts going through your mind as you're nearing the end of your college career?
MC:My last home meet brings a bittersweet taste to my mouth. It has been a long four-year grind but I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. I am excited to see how I can wrap up my career.
What will you miss most about Lehigh swimming?
MC: The thing I will miss the most about Lehigh Swimming is my teammates. We have grown so close to each other in my four years that they have become part of my family. Looking back at my career, they will be the center of my memories, not all the early mornings and tough workouts.
What are your postgraduate plans?
MC: Next year I will be back at Lehigh as part of the Masters in Management program. Since I am an engineering undergraduate, I am eager to change mindsets and learn about different topics that will further prepare me to start working in the years to follow.
Sean Daugherty - Free - Phoenixville, Pa. - Finance
Career Highlights: Set new career-highs this season in the 50 yard free (23.05) and 100 yard free (52.45)...A 2014 and 2015 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection.
What is your favorite Lehigh swimming moment up to this point? Why?
SD: This year at Le-Laf I was anchoring the last relay with three freshmen swimmers and they really put their all into the relay. They all stepped up to a new level and got me pumped to finish with one of my best times to date. It was bittersweet ending that meet, but seeing how far my teammates were willing to go to make my meet unforgettable was something incredibly touching.
Describe the relationship with your fellow seniors.
SD: I think it would be virtually impossible to make it this far without the support of my fellow seniors. Every class has their own style and I'm happy to be a part of this one. I'm surrounded by smart, driven, talented athletes who all give 100% to everything. It's been a great journey and I'm happy to call them teammates and friends.
Describe the feeling going into your last home meet. What are some of the thoughts going through your mind as you're nearing the end of your college career?
SD: I'm both excited and nervous going into my last home meet. I'm excited to see what everyone leaves in the pool and I'm nervous to compete my 3 meter dives. It should be a great opportunity to be competitive and race this close to our championship meet.
What will you miss most about Lehigh swimming?
SD: I'll miss my training groups most after finishing the season. I've trained with the same three sprinters throughout most of my career at Lehigh and our lane has a unique dynamic that would be hard to recreate without the swim practices. I'll miss being a part of the diving team. It took three years of asking, but once I finally got to dive, the people I've been surrounded with are so dedicated and encouraging that it's going to be incredibly hard to leave them.
What are your postgraduate plans?
SD: I've accepted a full time position as an audit associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers based in Philadelphia.
Jake Hassel - Fly/IM - Portsmouth, R.I. - Computer Engineering
Career Highlights: Current school record holder as a member of the 200 medley relay team (1:30.86)...Part of the 200 medley (3rd/1:31.52) and 400 medley (4th/3:23.64) relay teams at the 2013 Patriot League Championships...Finished fifth as part of the 200 medley relay team at the 2014 league championships...Member of the 2013 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
