Brant's 4.0 leads eight from Lehigh on men's swimming and diving honor roll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh placed eight student-athletes on the Patriot League Men's Swimming and Diving Academic Honor Roll, announced Wednesday. Senior Sean Brant led the way for the Mountain Hawks with a perfect 4.0 grade point average in finance. Brant is one of 11 men's swimming and diving student-athletes to earn a 4.0 or better in the spring semester.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
Brant led the Mountain Hawks in the classroom for the second straight season. He was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team in each of the last two seasons.
Next behind Brant is freshman Patrick Champagne who posted an impressive 3.91 in Lehigh's College of Arts and Sciences. Senior Dan Bateman posted a 3.88 in mechanical engineering.
Others named to the academic honor roll include senior Chris Campbell, junior Sean Daugherty, sophomores Justin Kostelnik and Jacb Moyar and freshman Zach Tieke. Moyar was also second team All-Patriot League selection for his work in the pool for the Mountain Hawks last season.
In total, 111 student-athletes across the league received Academic Honor Roll recognition in men's swimming and diving. Army West Point's Will Viana was voted Scholar-Athlete of the Year back in February.
The Mountain Hawks finished fifth at the Patriot League Championships following a 6-5 dual meet season.
