Mountain Hawks' winning streak snapped in 5-2 loss at Army West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Lehigh women's tennis team saw its three-match winning streak come to an end with a 5-2 loss to Army West Point Saturday on the Malek Tennis Courts. Freshman Christina Auyeung won at singles and doubles to lead the Mountain Hawks, who fall to 10-8 overall and 3-3 in the Patriot League.
Army West Point improves to 14-10 overall and 5-2 in the league after winning its regular season finale.
The host Black Knights won two of three doubles matches and four singles matches, taking all four singles matches in straight sets.
Army West Point captured the doubles matches at the No. 3 and No. 2 flights but Auyeung and sophomore Jamie Campisi prevented a doubles sweep with an 8-5 win over Eva Sung and Hannah Dahlem.
Auyeung posted a 6-4, 6-2 win over Carolyn Pitman to get Lehigh on the board at the No. 1 singles flight.
Freshman Briana Maravich accounted for Lehigh's other point, winning a third set ten point tiebreak 16-14 to defeat Elle Taylor at No. 4 singles. Maravich won the first set but dropped the second before winning the marathon tiebreak for Lehigh's second point.
The Mountain Hawks will close out the regular season on Monday when they visit rival Lafayette for a 3:30 p.m. match. Lehigh will open Patriot League Tournament play next Friday in Hamilton, N.Y.
