Mountain Hawks to open Patriot League slate Sunday versus Navy

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's tennis team will open Patriot League play on Sunday as the Mountain Hawks host Navy at the Lewis Tennis Center in the middle match of a three match home stand.
Lehigh enters league play at 6-5 after defeating Villanova 5-2 last Saturday in its first match since a 2-2 spring break trip to Florida.
Last Saturday against Villanova, the Mountain Hawks were swept in the doubles matches, but rallied to win five singles matches to rally for the victory. Sophomore Jamie Campisi delivered the clinching point with a three set victory at No. 3 singles, while the Mountain Hawks' lone singles loss came at the No. 5 flight in a ten point tiebreak.
Freshmen Christina Auyeung and Briana Maravich continue to lead Lehigh in singles play with seven victories. Auyeung is 7-2 at the top flight while Maravich is 7-4 at the No. 4 flight. Campisi leads the Mountain Hawks in doubles with a 6-5 record, which includes a 4-5 mark playing alongside Auyeung at the top doubles flight.
Navy enters the weekend at 14-6 overall following a 3-0 spring break trip to Puerto Rico where the Mids defeated Augustana (S.D.), Rhode Island and Sioux Falls. The Midshipmen will open league play with a Saturday visit to Lafayette before visiting Lehigh on Sunday.
Last season Navy defeated Lehigh 6-1 in Annapolis. Campisi accounted for Lehigh's only point with a win at No. 4 singles, while she and classmate Jessica Graham also posted a win at No. 2 doubles.
Sunday's match will begin at 11 a.m. from the Lewis Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks will close out their home stand and non-league schedule with a match against Moravian College Wednesday evening.
