BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After splitting four matches in Florida over spring break, the Lehigh women's tennis team will host Villanova Saturday at the Lewis Tennis Center in the first of a three match home stand.
The Mountain Hawks defeated St. Cloud State and Quinnipiac on the middle day of their Florida trip but lost to Stetson and James Madison and stand at 5-5 on the season.
Freshman Christina Auyeung enjoyed a strong run of matches in Florida, as she posted a 3-1 record at the No. 1 singles flight, which included Lehigh's lone win against James Madison in the spring break finale. Auyeung boasts a 6-2 singles record and is tied with classmates Kirstin Godau and Briana Maravich for the team lead in singles wins. In doubles play, Auyeung and sophomore Jamie Campisi have enjoyed success at the top flight. Campisi leads the Mountain Hawks with a 6-4 doubles mark, while Auyeung is 4-4.
Villanova sits at 2-8 on the season after dropping a 6-1 match to St. John's on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost their first seven matches before posting wins over SIU-Edwardsville and Hartford in the last two weeks.
Last season, the Mountain Hawks downed the Wildcats 4-3. Campisi, sophomore Cassidy Cruz and senior Abby Farrell all scored singles victories in that match.
Saturday's match will begin at 10 a.m. inside the Lewis Tennis Center.
