
Mountain Hawks take two matches Tuesday in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Lehigh women's tennis team bounced back from a loss Monday at Stetson with two wins Tuesday as part of their spring break trip. The Mountain Hawks opened their day with a 5-2 win over Quinnipiac in Winter Park before returning to Orlando to defeat St. Cloud State 9-0.
Lehigh was swept in doubles against Quinnipiac but turned it on after that, winning 11 of the 12 singles matches on the day and sweeping the doubles matches against the Huskies to improve to 5-4 on the season.
The day began with the match against Quinnipiac where the Bobcats swept the doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.
Freshman Christina Auyeung pulled the Mountain Hawks even with the first of her two 6-0, 6-0 wins on Tuesday. Quinnipiac picked up a win at No. 2 singles but Lehigh came back to win the remaining four singles matches. Freshman Briana Maravich earned the clinching point against the Bobcats with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Sydney Young at No. 4 singles. Senior Abby Farrell, sophomore Jamie Campisi and freshman Kirstin Godau also won singles matches.
In its second match of the day, Lehigh swept all nine matches from St. Cloud State. The Mountain Hawks dropped just nine games combined in doubles, including an 8-0 sweep from Auyeung and Campisi at the top flight.
Lehigh continued its dominance in singles play dropping just ten games combined across the six singles matches.
The Mountain Hawks will close out their spring break trip on Wednesday when they square off against James Madison at 1 p.m.
