Forrest earns Rookie of the Week honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second time in three weeks, Lehigh men's soccer freshman Mark Forrest has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
The freshman scored all three goals in Lehigh's 3-0 win over Fordham Tuesday. It marked the first time a Lehigh player recorded a hat trick since Oct. 6, 2007 when Kyle Evans scored three goals in a 3-0 home victory over Navy. The Douglasville, Pa. native then played a key role in keeping the pressure on Colgate's defense in a 1-0 win over the Raiders Saturday. Forrest is now tied for the team lead with 11 points behind four goals and three assists.
Junior Justin Worley and sophomore Joe Bogan both received honorable mention recognition for Defensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week, repectively. Bogan secured his fourth and fifth shutouts of the season by making five saves during Lehigh's 2-0 week. Bogan currently leads the league and ranks ninth in the nation in save percentage with a mark of 0.846. Worley anchored a Lehigh defense that secured two shutouts in a 2-0 week. The Mountain Hawks have now recorded six shutouts in their ten games played, good for an 0.60 shutouts per game average that ranks ninth in all of Division I.
Forrest and the Mountain Hawks return to action Wednesday at Navy. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and free video will be available on the Patriot League Network.
