Mountain Hawks impress at Lehigh Fall Invite

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's tennis team hosted its first of two fall events this weekend as the Mountain Hawks welcomed LIU Brooklyn, Rider, Longwood and Monmouth for the Lehigh Fall Invitational, which finished Sunday on the Ulrich Varsity Courts. Friday and Saturday's matches were played inside the Lewis Tennis Center due to weather. The Mountain Hawks squared off against all four teams in singles and doubles action with strong results.
Leading the way was freshman Grace Lin, who went 3-0 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles play with junior Cassidy Cruz. Junior Jamie Campisi also finished the weekend with a 3-0 record in singles action.
The Mountain Hawks began the Fall Invite Friday against LIU Brooklyn as Lehigh won two of three doubles matches. Campisi and sophomore Christian Auyeung defeated Caroline Koenigsfeldt and Malin Leysen at the top flight before Lin and Cruz took down Meriam Rhallab and Rianne van Son in the second flight. Lin, Campisi and sophomore Abby Duddy all earned convincing wins in singles play against the Blackbirds.
Lehigh took on Rider and Longwood on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks swept all three doubles matches against Rider by scores of 6-0 before winning all six singles flights against the Broncs, three of which came by way of 8-0 scores. Duddy claimed a victory in singles against Longwood.
Lehigh continued its impressive weekend Sunday against Monmouth when the Mountain Hawks once again swept all three doubles matches. Lehigh then won five of six singles flights against the Hawks.

Next up, the Mountain Hawks host the Patriot League Kickoff Oct. 16-18 on the Ulrich Varsity Courts.
