Lehigh baseball players enjoying success in summer leagues

Express-Times Article: Garzillo honing his skills with Lehigh Valley Catz
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh baseball team is well-represented in summer baseball leagues across the country from as far away as Texas to right here in the Lehigh Valley. Many of the Mountain Hawks are having successful summers, including Mike Garzillo who currently leads the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League with a .491 batting average and Justin Pacchioli who is among the Texas Collegiate League's leaders.
Pacchioli's .366 batting average currently sits in second place in the Texas College League, one of the nation's premier summer baseball leagues. He also has a league-leading three home runs and 25 runs scored in 29 games. Pacchioli is joined on the Victoria Generals by fellow Mountain Hawk John Elson.
In addition to his impressive .491 batting average, Garzillo has also tallied nine RBI, six stolen bases and 13 runs scored as a member of the Lehigh Valley Catz. A total of ten Mountain Hawks are spending their summer in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League. Pitchers Nick Macaione and J.R. Edwards join Garzillo on the Lehigh Valley Catz.
Three Mountain Hawks have found success on the Quakertown Blazers, with Patrick Donnelly leading the way with a strong .381 batting average that ranks second-best on the team. Connor Donovan has also had success offensively, while Kevin Long and Brandon Kulp represent the Lehigh pitching staff. Kevin Boswick has tallied a 2-1 record, three saves and a 1.58 ERA so far as a pitcher for the South Jersey Giants. Jacen Nalesnik (Allentown Railers) and Spencer Diggins (Jersey Pilots) are also members of the ACBL.
Tim McKay and Lance Kirschenbaum are interning together in New York City while also playing for the Metropolitan Baseball League. Matt Kozemchak is on the New York Collegiate Baseball League's Geneva Red Wings and is 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA on the mound in addition to a strong .333 batting average. Three Mountain Hawks are in playing in the Blue Mountain League, while Lehigh is also represented in the six other leagues.
