BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a strong regular season, the sixth-seeded Lehigh women's lacrosse team opens Patriot League Tournament play when it travels to Boston University to face the third-seeded Terriers on Tuesday. Opening draw for the quarterfinal showdown is set for 4 p.m. If Lehigh wins, the Mountain Hawks would face top-seeded Loyola in the Patriot League Semifinals on Thursday. The brackets reseed following the quarterfinal round.

Lehigh is coming off a 9-6 loss to Holy Cross on Saturday, but the Mountain Hawks had already clinched their first Patriot League Tournament berth since 2011. Lehigh finished the regular season 7-8 overall and 4-4 against Patriot League foes. One of those losses was by just goal at Colgate. The Mountain Hawks also fell to Navy in overtime and lost to Holy Cross by just three. Lehigh picked up a thrilling 12-11 double overtime victory at Boston University earlier this month.

Junior Carli Sukonik led the offense on Saturday vs. Holy Cross with two goals while Patriot League Rookie of the Year Allison LaBeau had a goal and assist. Tied at four at the half, the Crusaders outscored the Mountain Hawks 5-2 in the second half.

Boston University picked up an 11-9 win over Bucknell on Saturday which snapped a four-game losing streak. Lehigh's win over the Terriers on Apr. 5 had snapped Boston University's five-game winning streak while handing the Terriers their first-ever Patriot League loss. Boston U went on to fall to Colgate, Loyola and Harvard before Saturday's victory. The Terriers are 7-9 overall and 5-3 in the league.

Lindsay Weiner leads Boston University in scoring with 31 points behind 16 goals and 15 assists. Becca Church has 24 points via a team-leading 20 goals and four assists while Elizabeth Morse also owns 20 goals. Jill Horka leads the team with 29 groundballs, 36 draw controls and 21 caused turnovers. Caroline Meegan has started 12 of the 16 games in goal and owns an 11.03 GAA and 41.8 save percentage.

This season's matchup was the second-ever meeting between the two sides. Boston University won the first matchup, 17-9 in 1999.

If the Mountain Hawks win on Tuesday, they would travel to Baltimore, Maryland for a Thursday showdown with the top-seeded Loyola Greyhounds.
