BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a pair of overtime games against two of the Patriot League's best team, the Lehigh women's lacrosse team returns home to host American on Sunday afternoon. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m. Each of Lehigh's last two games have ended in dramatic fashion. Wednesday's 9-8 overtime loss at #20 Navy came four days after a 12-11 double overtime win over previously unbeaten Boston University.

In total, three of Lehigh's games have gone into overtime this season (also a 13-12 loss against Bryant).

Despite falling to Navy, Lehigh clinched a spot in the Patriot league Tournament due to Wednesday losses by American and Bucknell. The Mountain Hawks are headed back to the postseason for the first time since 2011.

Scoring eight goals on 10 shots against Navy, the #2 ranked defense in the country, the Mountain Hawks have continued their improved offense as of late. Lehigh tied its season high of 12 games against the Terriers. The Lehigh defense stepped up as well, holding a Navy team that averages 13.62 goals a game to just nine, while attempting eight less shots then their season average of 27.

Sophomore Kendall Garden led the Mountain Hawks all over the field with three goals while freshman Allison Labeau continued her impressive rookie season, scoring twice, including the game-tying goal with 5:22 remaining to force overtime. Senior goalie Alexandra Fitzpatrick was at her best down the stretch, finishing with seven saves including six after halftime (four in the second half and two in overtime).

American enters Sunday's contest with a 4-11 overall record and 0-6 in the Patriot League. The Eagles have lost four straight games including a slim 11-10 loss at Bucknell and 15-13 defeat vs. Lafayette. Olivia Mangan leads the Eagles with 36 points behind 21 goals and 15 assists while Alex Lugovina and Jessica Wojciechowski share the teams lead in goals with 24 apiece.

Last year's meeting saw the Eagles leave the Ulrich Sports Complex with a 16-8 victory. American leads the all-time series, 11-4. Lehigh's last win over American came on Apr. 2, 2011 by a 13-6 final.

The Mountain Hawks will wrap up their regular season next Saturday (Apr. 19) at home against Holy Cross. The Patriot League Tournament begins on Tuesday, Apr. 22 with opening round games on campus sites (at the #3 and 4 seeds).
