BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a pair of tough one-goal losses, the Lehigh women's lacrosse team returns home to take on Lafayette. Opening draw on Wednesday is set for 7 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex and can be seen online through the Patriot League Network.

An overtime loss to Bryant last Monday and last-second defeat at Colgate Saturday drops Lehigh's record to 3-4 and 1-1 in the Patriot League. On Saturday, the Mountain Hawks took a 7-3 lead late in the first half, but Colgate inched back into the game. The Raiders eventually took an 11-10 lead with 2:57 left in the second half, but freshman Allison LaBeau evened the score with 1:13 remaining. However, Colgate had one final answer, scoring with 17 seconds to go for the 12-11 final.

LaBeau finished with a career-high four goals to earn Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors. She also had two goals and three assists against Bryant. Freshman Krista Dampman also posted four points (three goals, one assist) while sophomore Kendall Garden scored twice. Senior goalie Alexandra Fitzpatrick made seven saves in goal.

Junior Carli Sukonik leads the team with 19 points on the season (17 goals, two assists). LaBeau has 18 while Garden owns 17. Garden has also recorded a team-leading 18 groundballs and 17 caused turnovers. Fitzpatrick owns a strong 7.68 GAA and 51.4 save percentage.

Lafayette has a 3-5 record this season and 0-2 Patriot League mark. The Greyhounds are coming off a tough 22-12 loss to Loyola on Saturday. Ana White leads the team with 27 points (20 goals, seven assists) while Laura Kleiber has 23 (20 goals, three assists) and Charlotte Avallone 12 (10 goals, two assists). White also leads the team in groundballs (19), draw controls (35) and caused turnovers (17). Meghan Curtin has played every minute in goal and owns a 11.25 GAA and 35.3 save percentage.

The Mountain Hawks lead the all-time series, 23-21. A six-game winning streak was snapped last season when Lafayette pulled out a 6-5 win in Easton. The sides first met in 1975, a 5-1 Lehigh win. Lehigh went on to win 13 of the first 17 before the Leopards came back with seven straight victories and 11-of-12 in the early 1990s.

Lehigh will return to action on Saturday when it heads to Loyola to face the Greyhounds. Opening draw is set for 4 p.m.
