BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's lacrosse team looks to start a winning streak as it hosts Binghamton on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a strong 10-4 victory over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday. Junior Carli Sukonik led the offense with four goals for her 11th career hat trick and senior Chelsea Retaleato added a career-high three goals.

After giving up two early goals, Lehigh's defense held strong throughout the game and allowed only nine shots. Freshman Julianne D'Orazio posted two groundballs and three caused turnovers and junior Kelly Scott had three groundballs and caused two turnovers. Senior goalie Alexandra Fitzpatrick stopped four-of-eight shots on goal.

The victory marked Lehigh's 14th straight season-opening victory.

Binghamton also earned a big win in its season opener, defeating Howard 20-6. The Bearcats' offense was led by Sophomore Sophie Racciatti and freshman Bri Arthur, who each netted a game-high five goals. The Bearcats defense was headed by freshman Callon Williams, who caused five turnovers and scooped seven groundballs.

Lehigh edged Binghamton last year 11-10 in double overtime. The Mountain Hawks are 4-0 all-time against the Bearcats.
