Total team effort leads to 7-0 shutout of Mount St. Mary's

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Nine different players earned victories as the Lehigh women's tennis team snapped a three-match slide with a 7-0 victory over Mount St. Mary's Sunday inside the Lewis Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks swept the three doubles matches and won all six singles matches in straight sets to improve to 2-4 on the season.
Senior Jenai Bilimoria, junior Abby Farrell, sophomore Marian Prim and freshman Cassidy Cruz all posted wins in doubles and singles to lead the Lehigh effort.
Bilimoria and Farrell posted an 8-1 win over sisters Jennifer and Kelly Smith at the top doubles flight to open the match, while Prim and senior Jill Sloand clinched the doubles point with an 8-2 win over Erin Benefiel and Taylor D'Agostino at the No. 3 flight. Cruz and senior Taylor Hampshire made it a doubles sweep for the Mountain Hawks as they defeated Sam Pinchoff and Liz Rossi 8-6 at No. 2 doubles.
While the doubles matches were going on, freshman Nina Larraza claimed her first varsity singles win, downing Danielle Nguyen 6-0, 7-5 at No. 6 singles. Cruz gave Lehigh a 3-0 team advantage with a straight set win over Kelly Smith at No. 3 singles, while Farrell clinched Lehigh's second win of the season with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Rossi at No. 2 singles.
Freshman Jess Graham posted an impressive 6-1, 6-1 win over D'Agostino at No. 4 singles before Bilimoria downed Pinchoff in straight sets, winning the second set in a tiebreak.
Sophomore Ali Kaminetsky closed out the match with a straight set win over Benefiel at No. 5 singles.
The Mountain Hawks will host Stony Brook Saturday at 10 a.m. inside the Lewis Tennis Center in their final match before spring break.
