BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The undefeated Lehigh women's basketball team faces a tough test Thursday as the Mountain Hawks put their perfect record on the line at in-state foe Saint Joseph's. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. from the Hawks' Hagan Arena and live audio coverage can be heard on 91.3 WLVR and wlvr.org.

Lehigh is already off to its best start in 30 years after securing a 6-0 record for the first time since the 1984-85 season when the Mountain Hawks began 10-0. Thursday's game will also challenge Lehigh's 4-0 road record.

The Mountain Hawks are coming off an 85-67 win over Hampton Tuesday on Education Day at Stabler Arena. Lehigh trailed Hampton 55-52 with 11:40 to play before a three-pointer from sophomore Kayla Burton sparked a 24-3 Lehigh run that spanned nine minutes as the Mountain Hawks pulled away from the Lady Pirates down the stretch.

Junior Kerry Kinek enjoyed a monster game with a season-best 22 points and 19 rebounds to record her third double-double of the season. Twelve of Kinek's points came from the charity stripe, just one free throw shy of tying Lehigh's single-game record. Sophomore Lexi Martins followed with 15 points, eight rebounds and a team-best five assists.  Burton totaled a season-best 13 points to go along with a trio of rebounds and assists.

The Mountain Hawks have outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points in Lehigh's six wins. The team's rebound margin of +13.5 leads the Patriot League and ranks tenth in all of Division I. Martins, who has tallied five double-doubles in the season's first six games, leads the team with 17.8 points and a league-leading 11.2 rebounds per game.

Saint Joseph's carries a 2-4 record into Thursday's game after finishing last season with a 23-10 overall mark to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as the Hawks advanced to the second round of the tournament for just the seventh time in school history.

The Hawks have picked up wins over Temple (78-74, OT) and St. Francis Brooklyn (64-42) so far this season. Saint Joe's is coming off a 77-60 loss to Seton Hall in its most recent action Sunday.

Guard Ciara Andrews led the team with 22 points in the loss, but was the only Saint Joe's player to score in double digits. Ashley Robinson led the team with nine rebounds. The Hawks shot 40.7 percent from the field and 30 percent from downtown, while Seton Hall finished the game with a 38.4 shooting percentage and 16 points from made free throws.

The Hawks have been outscored by an average of 4.8 points and outrebounded by a mark of 2.7 in their six games so far this season. Andrews leads the team with 15.8 points per game, while Natasha Cloud's 6.5 rebounds per contest is a team best.

Lehigh and St. Joe's will meet for the first time since 2011 Thursday night. The Hawks hold a 9-2 advantage in the all-time series.

Saint Joseph's won the most recent meeting in 2011 by a score of 66-48. The Hawks outscored Lehigh 36-19 in the first half before the Mountain Hawks put together a second-half rally that fell short. Three Lehigh players scored in double figures led by Alexa Williams with 14 points. Former Lehigh director of basketball operations Katie Kuester led the Hawks with 14 points.

Lehigh shot just 29.2 percent (14-for-48) from the field, including a 16.7 percent (4-for-24) first-half clip. The Mountain Hawks finished 23.1 percent (3-for-13) from downtown and 77.3 percent (17-for-22) from the charity stripe.

Saint Joseph's finished the game shooting 41.8 percent (28-for-67) from the field and 42.9 percent (6-for-14) from three-point range. The Hawks held a 41-36 rebound advantage and forced 18 Lehigh turnovers compared to their own 11.

Following Thursday's game, Lehigh will have a 16-day finals break and return to action on Dec. 20 and 21 at the Arizona State Classic. Each game can be heard on 91.3 WLVR and wlvr.org.
