Tuvesson garners Patriot League Rookie of the Week recognition

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's soccer freshman Doyle Tuvesson has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.
Tuvesson helped lead Lehigh to a 2-1 come-from-behind win at Bucknell Saturday night. Lehigh trailed 1-0 for nearly 70 minutes Saturday before Tuvesson found an equalizer in the 73rd minute to tie the game at one. The freshman made several crafty moves to split a group of five Bison defenders and send the ball into the lower left-hand corner of the net for his third goal of the season. This is Tuvesson's second Rookie of the Week award this season, making him the first Mountain Hawk to earn the plaudits multiple times since Austin Decker in 2009.
Junior Jamie Luchini and senior keeper Ciaran Nugent also earned honorable mention recognition for Patriot League Offensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week. Luchini scored the game winner in the 89th minute, while Nugent made five big saves between the pipes.
The Mountain Hawks are now 2-0 in Patriot League play for the first time since 2006. The 2006 squad went on to earn the regular-season Patriot League title and finish undefeated in league play.
Tuvesson and the Mountain Hawks return to action Wednesday at archrival Lafayette before hosting Boston University Saturday. Kickoff for both contests is set for 7 p.m. and both can be viewed for free on the Patriot League Network.
