Mountain Hawks predicted fifth in preseason poll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's swimming and diving team has been picked fifth in this year's Patriot League preseason poll announced on Thursday. The Mountain Hawks finished fifth in last year's Patriot League Championship, setting seven school records.
In this year's poll, Lehigh earned 100 points and was chosen to finish fifth in the league. Navy was picked first with 160 points with 16 out of 20 first place votes. Navy captured last year's Patriot League title with 945.5 total points while Lehigh finished with 291.5 in fifth place. Boston was picked second with 137 points followed by Army with 136, and Bucknell with 117.
The Patriot League Preseason Poll is voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
Behind Lehigh, the rest of the preseason poll in order was Loyola (69 points), Lafayette (61), American (53), Colgate (48), and Holy Cross (19).
This year's Patriot League Championship will be held at Bucknell beginning on February 18. Lehigh is looking forward to having seniors such as Sean Brant and Danny Bennett lead the team this year, in addition to the leaders each class holds. The Mountain Hawks return a pair of All-Patriot League selections including sophomore Jacob Moyar who set three school records during last year's championship and sophomore Jamal Willis.
Lehigh will kick off its season on October 11 when the Mountain Hawks compete at Boston University.
