Lehigh baseball lands eight on PL Academic Honor Roll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh baseball team placed eight student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, announced on Wednesday. At the top of the list was sophomore pitcher Jordan Smith with a 3.80 grade point average in chemical engineering.
Behind Smith was senior Steven Ball earning a 3.40 majoring in bioengineering. Other student-athletes named to the honor roll included juniors Tyler Brong and Joey McNamara, sophomores Lance Kirschenbaum, Tim McKay, and Rene Tato, and freshman Zach Gray.
Brong was the most productive Mountain Hawk on the field, batting .278 with two home runs and 23 runs batted in as Lehigh's starting first baseman. Brong, Gray, Kirschenbaum and McKay are position players while the other four Lehigh members of the honor roll are pitchers.A total of 60 baseball student-athletes were named to the honor roll, led by Holy Cross' Jordan Enos, who was voted Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year last month.
To be eligible for the Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
