Men’s Soccer to honor former coach John McCloskey as part of Alumni Weekend

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer team will host alumni weekend this weekend and will honor former men's soccer and men's lacrosse coach John McCloskey during halftime of Saturday's game. The Mountain Hawks take on Patriot League newcomer Loyola at 7 p.m. Saturday.
"John McCloskey is the reason why I'm here," said head coach Dean Koski. "I'm indebted to him for bringing me to Lehigh and affording me the opportunity to be a head coach."
McCloskey was the head coach of the men's soccer program from 1984-1991 and accumulated a record of 64-67-14 during his tenure. He coached one All-American and 13 All-Region players during his time with the Mountain Hawk soccer team.
In addition to his time with the soccer team, McCloskey was also Lehigh's head men's lacrosse coach from 1985-2001. During his time with the lacrosse program, he coached three All-Americans and 40 All-Patriot League players.
McCloskey was an All-American Lacrosse midfielder in 1979, and lettered in both lacrosse and soccer in his years at the University of Delaware.
"I certainly have a great respect for John as a coach and as my mentor," said Koski. "He has not only laid the foundation for a very successful soccer program, but also a very successful lacrosse program."
