Lehigh women open up action in New Jersey

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Lehigh women's swimming and diving team returned to the pool Friday night with the opening session of the Big Al Invite at Princeton's DeNunzio Pool. The Mountain Hawks competed in four events, taking on Georgetown, Fordham, TCNJ and the host Tigers in their first competition since losing at Colgate on October 27.

reshman Courtney Patterson posted the top finish for a Lehigh swimmer on the day, placing third in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:06.46. Individually, the Mountain Hawks also had swimmers compete in the 50 yard freestyle with senior Katie Brinkhoff leading the way with a time of 25.73 seconds.
Lehigh also competed in two relays. The first event of the meet, the 200 free relay saw Brinkhoff, junior Stephanie Yaszemski, freshman Abigail Pires and sophomore Mary Samuels place tenth with a time of 1:42.41.
In the final day of the day, Brinhkoff, Samuels, Pires and senior Emily DiDonato placed eighth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:13.06.
The Big Al Invite will conclude with two sessions on Saturday. The morning session will begin at 9 a.m. with the final session will begin Saturday at 2 p.m.
