Wysocki earns Patriot League weekly award

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh junior midfielder Ben Wysocki earned the Patriot League's Offensive Player of the Week honor after twice aiding the Mountain Hawks in erasing one-goal deficits on Saturday. He first assisted on Lehigh's opening goal, and then scoring one of his own in dramatic fashion, recording his first three points of the year in arguably their most important match of the season.
With the Mountain Hawks trailing 1-0 early in the second half, Wysocki found freshman Ben Davis off a set piece for a header in the 48th minute to even Lehigh with the Black Knights at 1-1. Then, as the team's season seemed in jeopardy with the Mountain Hawks trailing 2-1, Wysocki drilled a 25-foot bender with just under four minutes to play in regulation to send the game into the extra session. Though Lehigh was unable to come away with the win or a Patriot League Tournament berth, Wysocki saw 104 minutes of action and played an integral part of the Mountain Hawks' attempt to extend the season.
Wysocki is the second Mountain Hawk to earn the Patriot League's weekly award as the Offensive Player of the Week (Rylan Collins Oct. 14).
