Lehigh’s game at Navy to air nationally on CBS College Sports

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's lacrosse team will appear on national television at least once this season when the Mountain Hawks travel to Navy for a rematch of last season's Patriot League Championship Game. The Apr. 23 game is one of two regular season Patriot League games set to air on CBS College Sports. The league championship game will also be televised for the first time ever.
"We are excited and proud to represent the Patriot league and Division I women's lacrosse on national television,” said head coach Jill Redfern. “This opportunity recognizes the popularity of the women's game and the growth of our program at Lehigh. Playing against Navy is always a challenge, and we expect this year to be no different.”
The other Patriot League game set for CBS College Sports is Apr. 9 when the Midshipmen host Colgate at 12 p.m. The Patriot League Championship Game on Apr. 30 will air on the network as well.
The Mountain Hawks are in the midst of preseason practice in preparation for their Feb. 19 season opener at defending MAAC Champion and NCAA Tournament qualifier Marist. Lehigh enters 2011 with high hopes, returning seven of its top eight scorers from last season's squad, which captured the Patriot League Regular Season Championship.
