Lehigh competes at Bison Outdoor Classic

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh wrapped up competition at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday and Scott Robinson had the top finish of the weekend with a second place finish in the 400-hurdles, as he crossed in a time of 53.58. Also on the men’s side, Niall Buckley placed ninth in the 800-meters with a time of 1:54.20. In the women’s events, Katherine Pierce finished in 4:50.20 to place third in the 1500 with Elizabeth Robinson placing tenth in the same race with a time of 4:52.11, and the 4x100 relay team finished in fourth place, crossing in 49.11.
On the women’s side, one of the Mountain Hawks strongest showings came in the 1500 Open where five runners posted top-20 finishes, including Pierce, Robinson, Jen Curran (15), Kaitlin Grimm (17) and Colleen Law (20). Jen Therkorn had a strong showing in the 800 with a sixth place finish in a time of 2:14.88, while Sarah Serwo placed 14th as she crossed in 2:16.68. Alexandra Neville (22) and Lauren Sternick (23) also posted top-25 finishes. Serwo went onto finish in 13th place in the 1500-meter Invitational with a time of 4:42.11. Andrea Mascaro (18) and Shannon Alejandro (20) also finished in the top-20.
In the 100-meters, senior Lindsey Corbetta crossed in a time of 12.71 which was good for 16th place, while Alexandra Doersam placed 19th with a time of 12.81, and Allison Grese crossed in 13.28. Dana Stellar (13), Jen Filiberto (16), Nicole Page (17) and Megan Hetzel (22) all finished in the top-25 of the 3000-meter steeplechase
In the field events, Krista Belick was fourth in the pole vault with a leap of 10-6 and Emily Settle finished eighth in the hammer throw.
In men’s action Matt Sheridan (14) and Andrew Jervis (28) finished in the top-30 of the 3000-meter steeplechase and Doug Ridyard finished the 10,000-meter open race in 32:25.67, which was good for fifth place. Jon Wetzel (11), Dan McClimon (13) and Ben Lampi (16) all placed in the top-20 of the 5000-meter Invitational.
Dominic Aversa jumped 14-3 in the pole vault, which tied him for fourth place and James Pachucki finished sixth in the javelin with a throw of 183-0.
Lehigh returns to action on April 17 when the Mountain Hawks travel to New Jersey to compete at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University.
