BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following its two victories last week, including its largest win of the season on Saturday, Lehigh had a pair of players rewarded on Monday as sophomore Lauren Dykstra was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week and freshman Kelly Draper was named the Rookie of the Week. Dykstra matched her career-high with eight goals in Lehigh’s 21-7 victory over American, while Draper established her season-high with six goals in the Mountain Hawks 15-13 win over Columbia on March 18. This is Dykstra’s first award of the season, while for Draper it marks the third time she has been honored.
Dykstra totaled 13 points in Lehigh’s two wins, including a four-goal, one-assist performance in the win over Columbia. She added four ground balls and a pair of draw controls versus the Lions, and scored Lehigh’s final two goals of the contest. The New Jersey native also totaled career-highs in ground balls (10) and draw controls (six), while surpassing the 90-goal mark for her career against the Eagles. Dykstra was a perfect eight-of-eight on shots Saturday and now has 92 career goals.
