Draper honored by Patriot League for second time

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second time this season, freshman Kelly Draper has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday. Draper netted a career-best four goals and handed out one assist in the Mountain Hawks Patriot League opener versus Bucknell this past weekend. She also totaled a season high five ground balls and a pair of draw controls.
Draper netted three of her goals in the first half alone versus the Bison as the Mountain Hawks opened up a 6-2 lead in the first 19 minutes of action. Three of Draper’s four goals on Saturday came on free position shots, while her other score was assisted by Meagan Tenety.
Draper leads Lehigh with ten goals and 20 points this season, having scored at least two goals in all four of the Mountain Hawks games. She has added 10 ground balls, three draw controls and one caused turnover.
Draper and the rest of the Mountain Hawks return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they play host to the Fairfield Stags at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The opening draw control is set for 3:30 and all of the action will be broadcast live on Lehighsports.com.
